From your responses to me, I have a feeling that you are thinking I am being naive about married men (and women). But I’m not. It was just in this particular case, which I am very reluctant to explain for fear of being severely reprimanded for fat shaming/body shaming/beauty shaming and most of all being terribly conceited.

However, since you have replied twice, and I am the one leaving an important part out of the mix, I will come clean with you, Rev. Fred Denial; although, I’d feel a lot more comfortable if I knew your name and could see a real photo.

Okay. I think I can do this. And I probably can only because I am now old and much less attractive than I was when this friendship took place when I was twenty-seven.

My friend was extremely overweight. I’m talking about 150 pounds or more. Please forgive me, but I was very young and at the time thought that he knew that I couldn’t possibly have anything more than a friendship with him because of the way he looked. And stupidly, I thought his wife would know that I wasn’t at all interested, as well.

Okay. I know I sound horrible. Perhaps I was.

Me back then
