I loved this story and the house tour. I had a very difficult time when my childhood house was sold and torn down. For years now — — since my father died in 2006 — — there has been a green demolition fence surrounding it. Apparently, the new owners have had a nightmare obtaining permits to build. Eleven years later, it is still unfinished. Somehow I think my father had a hand in this. During the last few years of his life whenever we drove down the street with him, he’d point out the tear downs to us and say, “Someday my house will be gone, too.” It finally is, but the new owners haven’t had a chance to enjoy it yet, and that would give my father some satisfaction.
