I may be confused because I think what you’re talking about here is different than the original author’s. And my response to her was meant to address how women feel the need to choose between a good guy who is boring and out of touch with his feelings or a “bad boy.” She states “… society conditions women to settle when they find a man that treats them with respect, because, regardless of other flaws, the next man they date might not.”

Even so, both genders marry and stay “for all the wrong reasons.” I think that is a whole other discussion and an interesting one to explore.

But please correct me if I just don’t understand.
