I think whether pro choice or pro life, we are all pros in different ways. When I was twenty and found myself pregnant for the first time and had an abortion (the story I wrote about here), I was pro choice out of being a child still in a woman’s body and dependent upon my parents. When I was forty and pregnant after already being a mother to a four-year-old child, I was pro choice because I was at the mercy of my body that had once before almost failed me (another story when I wrote about illness, pregnancy and premature births here). That time was even more difficult than the first time because I was a mother and knew what it was like to have a baby of my own in my arms and was mature enough to understand the significance of it all.
