Many years ago, I read an article I will never forget. It was called “The Beautiful, Beautiful Woman. There was a question put to the reader about why such a beautiful woman as Lana Turner would be home on a Friday night in April of 1958 (the night of her boyfriend’s murder), when much lesser beauties were out on the town? The answer was because the “Suzie cheerleader types” were much less threatening to men. And the more the Lana Turners were ignored, the more unapproachable they would look.
