Her Story (Part 1)

I look at you — all around your face — and then I stop at each feature, one at a time, while you watch me looking at you.

“You’re so pretty,” you say, and I look away and feel myself blush.

I look back to your eyes and mine immediately soften, and I notice yours softening, as well.

I watch your lips move as you tell me you want to kiss me, and we’re both imagining our lips touching at any moment.

Neither of us wants the other to notice, but we can’t help it, and we look at each other like we’ve never wanted anything as much as this kiss.

I stop breathing as your eyes follow mine to your hand resting on the seat between us, and I think about what it will feel like in mine.

There are fewer and fewer boundaries between us, and the intimacy of sharing all our thoughts has made me want you more every time we speak.
