This is excellent, Joyce, and your words remind me so much of talking to my psychoanalyst many years ago about a boyfriend who didn’t love me the way I loved him.

One day my therapist yelled, “I’m so goddamned tired of hearing about Michael!”

I hope you don’t mind if I offer you some advice from a well-seasoned patient. Talk about this man if it helps you, but in doing so, make sure you are really talking about yourself. Talk about what it was about him that drew you to him and led you to act in the way in which you did. You will learn all about yourself by using him the way you might feel he used you.
