What a relief! Tell her that my grandmother and mother died from lung cancer — and no, neither of them smoked, so I worried ever since I found information from the American Cancer Society on my mother’s bed when I was a child. It was always on my mind, and I would ask my doctor for a CT scan of my lungs. He never approved because he felt we would just open up a can of worms, until about ten years ago when I needed a bladder scan. I figured since I had to have one anyway, we might as well cover both at the same time. So, of course, they found a 3mm nodule in my left lung, and I had to have scans for two years to see if would grow. It wasn’t fun.
Anyway, here’s to enjoying life… until the next scare…
